Soviet 7,62mm machinegun Maxim with water cooling was the principle machinegun of the Red army and was extensively used during Great Patriotic war. It was belt-fed and used standard riffle ammo. The belt included 250 cartridges. The machinegun could fire up to 600shots in a minute. To facilitate transporting of the heavy machinegun (its weight was about 70kg) was used Sokolov’s wheel carriage. The machinegun was used to fire at enemy infantry and vulnerable parts of enemy vehicles.
