Soviet 82mm battalion mortar BM-37was both quite effective and relatively light ‘ its weight (61kg) allowed it to be transported by four men crew. For transportation the mortar was dissembled in three parts: barrel, tripod and base plate. The crew also carried a supply of mines. Experienced crew could make up to 25shots in a minute. The range of the mortar was 3040meters, while fragments of mine could damage enemy troops in a radius of 60meters. The mortar could be loaded not only with standard mines, but also with captured enemy mines (for 81mm mortar).
